Dear Readers,

During the previous weeks of August 2014 I made so many tough decisions. After 10 years of living in Egypt I moved back to my native country Slovakia. Reasons and consequences of my life in a cradle of Western civilization are of no importance now; the lesson of life which I passed is more significant.

I was living in between the most disturbing events happening during the previous years in the Middle East.  Emotions of Egyptian revolution came as  the peak of also my personal resistance.

The jets on nearby military airport were starting over my windows flying to Gaza, uprising in Yemen and Gaddafi’s last days were just normal daily TV program.

I was meeting Muslim Brotherhood members living in the building owned by them, and pitied soldiers – still boys with their innocent eyes guarding the electoral committee nearby, pointing their guns on me.

Shooting if as practice in the Military Academy across or as the echo of the movements on the streets stopped to concern me.

Woman running from the war in Syria came to ask every month for money.

Just a normal life.

I didn’t run from the Egypt in panic when all European countries were sending planes to collect their citizens and flew them home from the danger place. I endured many inconvenient circumstances, but on the end it was my personal life which brought the need to make a tough decision.

The war, revolution or political disturbances didn’t inspire the changes in my life, they merely brought me the theme to write and sharpen my expression and style. For those who are interested in the view from the inside, here is the link to my non-fiction analyses of the Egyptian upheavals written during the years of 2011-2013.

As a result of my personal growth I’m able to see the happenings in the world from much wider perspective.  The insignificance of the squabbles taken from the contents of the local existence introduced by international news to the world as of major merit cannot change my view.   Also, my values and regards became much more oriented towards the strength of human character than to the power of weapons, money or physical pleasures.

What is always the most important in everyone life - relationships with others – is also the only way of personal growth and change.  Relations with others are the mirrors showing us what we don’t want to see on ourselves. Not just relations with significant ones, but with those who enter our life like avalanche, shock us, offend us, humiliate us… Then the real soul-search starts generally very far from a place where it supposed to. On a way by the detour we are heading home – to ourselves, just to realize why we needed such a curve. The negative swing of the pendulum is just fair as positive. Only people are more receptive to a painful experience.

I distilled my life experience into the memoirs and wish to share it with the world. Memoir is not my preferred genre, but much more suitable to convey inner struggles for a wide audience. All my friends – fiction writers - can be certain that I will continue in writing my philosophical researches and critical essays after this short escape to the belle-lettres genre. Also, I will continue in a persuasion of the highest standard for the design and layout of the books.

If the inside which I wish to convey will have an influence on you, I will be grateful for spreading a word.

The book will not be available discounted or offered for free.

I created this website also to offer, for those who never visited Egypt or think about it, a virtual tour through the ancient beauties connected with the book and worthy to see.

If anyone wishes to comment or asks further questions I’m happy to answer or connect with you on the FB.

I wish to use this occasion and thank every one of my readers for your kind support, words of encouragement and  spreading the word to your family and friends.
